Colin Grady

Director

Colin Grady is a trusted auditor and Chartered Accountant, drawing upon over forty years of extensive experience in Australia across a variety of industries.

After graduating, Colin went straight into the auditing field and completed the Institute of Chartered Accountants course to become qualified. Colin spent 14 years with Deloitte and left in 1984 to pursue a better work-life balance. He joined DFK Laurence Varnay as the Audit Manager – progressing to Partner in 1990.

Colin is one of our Audit Directors and maintains the firm’s PCAOB registration. His expertise has ensured that DFK Laurence Varnay remains the auditor of choice for many Australian and international organisations. Colin is a Registered Company Auditor, as well as a Registered Superannuation Fund Auditor, Registered Auditor under the Fair Work Registered Organisations Act and Tax Agent. He acted as Company Secretary for an ASX-listed company for over 20 years. At times during that period, Colin also acted as a Company Director for that entity.

This wide-ranging experience and knowledge mean that Colin is across a variety of issues and can adapt to client needs quickly and effectively. Not just an auditor, Colin has a diverse set of business services and taxation clients. His all-rounder approach makes him a very knowledgeable asset to clients and DFK Laurence Varnay.

A diligent worker, Colin has built strong working relationships with clients and prides himself on his professional, down-to-earth approach to achieving exceptional outcomes for our clients.

He’s a man that loves a challenge and getting things done; clients often reflect that with Colin, what you see is what you get – and that’s accurate, efficient and trusted service and advice.

With a great team behind him, Colin values the family-orientated nature of working at DFK Laurence Varnay, which extends through to clients and our networks. Along with the variety of skill sets and experience, clients know that they will be looked after, no matter what service they need.

‘Nothing is static’ in the industry anymore, according to Colin, and the biggest challenge will remain the adoption of technology. Colin is proud of the fact that DFK Laurence Varnay is providing the full-level service and advice that clients expect and deserve.

Colin enjoys travelling, spending time with family and in his spare time, reading novels on his iPad. With skills around the home, Colin is a bit of a handyman and has always had large dogs as part of the family.
