The DFK Laurence Varnay team proudly represented the firm at the DFK ANZ Annual Conference 2025, held at the stunning Sofitel Broadbeach from 21–23 May. This event brought together leaders and emerging professionals from across the DFK ANZ group for a packed program of insights, collaboration, and innovation in the accounting and advisory space.

One of the major highlights of this year’s conference was the official debut of the Audit Breakout Session—a significant initiative conceived, coordinated, and facilitated by DFK Laurence Varnay’s own Faizal Ajmat. With a keen focus on technical excellence, practice development and future-readiness, Faizal’s leadership in establishing this inaugural session created a dedicated space for auditors across the DFK ANZ group to collaborate, share best practices and align on quality and consistency. The Chevron Room was abuzz with valuable discussions, setting a benchmark for future audit engagement across the region.

The conference also featured keynote presentations on global market trends, ethics in the AI age, leadership development, and practical strategies for business performance. Breakouts covered key verticals including HR, industry innovation, and emerging leadership.

DFK Laurence Varnay’s standout contribution did not go unnoticed—culminating in the firm being awarded the coveted DFK ANZ Firm of the Year. This prestigious accolade recognises outstanding performance, service to clients, and collaborative spirit across the group.
